Six Top Facebook Tech Tips For iPhone Users
Want to know some great tech tips for using Facebook? Well, these are the best Facebook tips you can get on what to do and what not to do when using Facebook. Here is a simple and quick list of some of the cool things you can do with Facebook. These Facebook tips will help you use Facebook to the fullest!
Research your friends: One of the cool Facebook tech tips is to research your friends online. Find out who they are linking with and find out if it is safe to link to them. For instance, if my girlfriend is a fan of the Phishing suit Facebook page, I am going to move it to her wall. The same goes for me, I am going to move all of my Facebook favorites to her wall. If I am not careful, I might accidentally link to a phishing website!
Use Facebook Widgets: Another one of the cool Facebook tech tips is to use Facebook widgets. Facebook widgets are few software applications that run inside the Facebook application. You can add them by going to your Account tab and scrolling to Apps. Look for Facebook widgets, and if you can’t find any, just tap the “New” button on the bottom right corner of the app and type in widgets. Pick the right one for you, by clicking on “Show Options”, then “Get More Widgets”.
Change your privacy settings: Another of the cool Facebook tech tips is to change your privacy settings. To access the Privacy settings, go to the Privacy tab. Here you can modify various settings, such as who can see your messages and who can Borrow your computer. By default, Facebook lets anyone have access to these features, so you should make sure to look here if you think you might want to change this.
Add a new App: Another one of my favorite Facebook tech tips is to add a new app. This is great if you are already using a social networking app like Hootsuite or Buffer, because it gives you an easier way to access other features on your app. For example, if you are trying to post a new tweet, you can just tap the “New Post” option in your main Twitter page and then add a new app, such as Twellow or Buffer. This will automatically update your main feed with your newest tweets.
Use Control Center: On the right side of your screen, you’ll see three dots. These are the iOS app icons you have used to access Control Center. Tap them, to bring up Control Center. It’s really simple, but this one little trick makes me a very happy camper!
Enable Privacy Settings on YouTube: Finally, I love to enable my personal controls for YouTube privacy. You can go into “Settings” on the left side of the screen, then tap “Network,” then tap “Video Streaming Options.” Here, you will find the “Show Advanced Options” link. Tap this link, to turn off the private browsing feature for YouTube. This means no ads, pop-up ads, or video streams from anyone you don’t know watching your videos, which is a huge time and effort saver.
Hopefully you can take these few easy steps and implement them into your day-to-day life.
